Fill a Sock Appeal
December 2018
Fill a Sock Appeal - Leek was set up by local parent Gemma Iliff who first saw the appeal on the Help for the Homeless - CIC Facebook page who are based in Chell Heath, Stoke on Trent. She thought it was such a good idea that she spread the word around some friends and it took off from there. We got involved as she asked us to be a drop off location for folks who were making the socks up. Matt then jumped on board to help with the social media, and the response we got was phenomenal.

It was dead easy to get involved, use a new pair of socks (long ones help, so you’ll be able to fit everything in) and fill them with: Toothbrush & toothpaste, roll on deodorant, sweets & chocolate, comb or brush, hand sanitizers, sanitary item if for a female, pair of gloves, hand warmers and a hat if it’ll fit.

We were so proud of the Leek and Moorlands community who were so generous as we are able to drop off 552 pairs of socks of at the Help for the Homeless CIC and it was an honour and pleasure to meet Jeannette who with her team are doing an amazing job supporting the homeless people of Stoke on Trent.
